Penn Equipment & Tool knows today's marketplace demands a different management structure than the rigid top-down method of yester-year. Penn's matrix style of management allows for interaction between the project teams at Penn Equipment and representatives of the owner/builder/construction manager.

Company Structure
The need for structured project management is one of the most important components of any design-bid-build project. Schedule disruptions and poor communication amongst contractors and owners results in an cost overruns and installation delays. Therefore, Penn aims to guarantee that the procurement, installation, and operation of the maintenance equipment and industrial furnishings are successes. In order to do so, Penn employs a matrix company organization. While organizing in hierarchical management fashion at Penn, we integrate all parties (I.e., the general contractor, subcontractors, project consultant, etc.) into a working relationship. Continued discussion leads to better informed project partners and a tight schedule. For a graphical representation of a project at Penn Equipment, click on the management methods links.

Project Orientation - Job Management System (JMS)
If Penn is hired as a subcontractor, the project flows through our company structure as well as our Job Management System (JMS). Under the supervision of our Information Technology department, the project concurrently makes use of both a web-based and SQL interface. By doing so, JMS allows all involved parties to monitor progress and flawlessly make changes to the equipment and furnishings end of the project without disruption, cost overruns, and time delays. JMS eliminates shaky communcation between the General Contractor, owner, and / or furnishings and equipment contractor by allowing information to be accessed by the appropriate parties.

Penn and the Bid Process
Penn Equipment can provide a variety of services. At the project's commencement, Penn can be incorporated into the design stage. During the project design phase, Penn can offers consulting services for the specifications.
Afterwards, Penn can continue its exclusive partnership with the owner/CM and supply and install the pieces. Else, Penn can bid on the project. You benefit in either scenario: with Penn products (bidders obtain during bidding process) or Penn as the subcontractor
